I’m no fan of AT&T, so it’s amusing when their efforts to stifle competition and open access to information meets with such unexpected and well-deserved results. From The Ad Age Viral Video Chart, clipped below, Verizon’s ‘Map For That’ ad is back on the charts (after being off for a while), at number 7, with almost half a million views - all because of AT&T’s legal team.
My lack of love for AT&T is nearly equally juxtaposed by my love of funny commercials. If you haven’t seen the ‘Map For That’ ad, check it out. And, even better, is the Verizon ‘Island of Misfit Toys’ ad. That one is priceless.

This morning, the Twitter world is “a-tweet” with the news that AT&T’s lawsuit has caused the ‘Map for That’ ad to go “viral.”
According to an article posted on “Advertising Age,” the ‘Map for That’ ad has rocketed back onto the viral video charts at number 7, with 500,000 views. For those of you who are interested, you can view the ad here.
