Obama To Personally Attend United Nations Climate Change Conference

Maybe the U.S. will be part of the discussions on climate change after all

WASHINGTON, November 24, 2009 – The following statement was issued today by World Wildlife Fund’s Climate Program Director Keya Chatterjee in response to the announcement that President Obama will attend the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, which takes place in Copenhagen, Denmark from December 7-18.

“We are pleased that President Obama will be in Copenhagen during the early part of the climate summit.
we hope the President will be willing to return to Copenhagen with the rest of the world’s leaders during the final stages of the negotiations.

“The world will be listening closely for a signal that climate change and a clean energy economy is President Obama’s top legislative priority after health reform.  To make good on any promises made in Copenhagen, the President should put the full weight of the White House behind Senate passage of a climate bill in the first part of 2010.”

Huckabee Proves That You Can Be An Honorable Man And Still Disagree

I don’t agree with his politics, but Mike Huckabee demonstrates here that he at least understands the meaning of being ‘honorable’ and ‘respectful.’ I think he’s got a lot of courage to make these statements, given the right wing’s current apocalyptic-style rants they call political discourse.

Huckabee Calls Knee-Jerk GOP Attacks On Obama ‘Deplorable’ And ‘Shameful’

When he [Barack Obama] was at Dover the other day, and went there to pay respect for soldiers, I heard a lot of people on the Right say “Aw, that’s just a cheap photo-op.” No, I think it was the Commander-in-Chief of our military paying respect to a dead soldier, and I’m grateful that he did that, and I was proud of him for doing that
When he and Michele hosted the tricker-treaters on Halloween, quit finding something wrong with that. Say “Good, I’m glad that he and the First Lady are treating children to an experience at the White House.” And I just find it deplorable that some people on my end of the aisle want to find everything wrong and nothing right about the man as a man.
Huckabee
former presidential candidate Mike Huckabee said he found it “deplorable” and “shameful” that his fellow Republicans were attacking the president for even the most trivial or well-intentioned matters.Read more at www.huffingtonpost.com
